How to prepare your app for reviews from other developers

A practical checklist for app links, device requirements, access instructions, and review tasks that developers can actually complete.

Start with a working store link

Share the exact App Store or Google Play listing for the version you want people to try. Confirm that it is available in the reviewer’s country and on their device. A link that works for you may still be unavailable in another storefront.

Describe device requirements, language support, and any paid features before someone starts. If an account is needed, explain the sign-up path. Never share private credentials in a public task description.

Give the reviewer a clear path

Choose a small set of meaningful actions: finish onboarding, create a first project, or use the main feature. Explain what someone needs to do to understand the app, rather than telling them what praise to publish.

Reviewers should write from their own experience. Do not supply a review script, require a positive opinion, or hide important restrictions until after installation. Clear instructions reduce confusion without determining the rating.

Keep the record easy to verify

On ClickTree, reviewers submit installation evidence and their published review details. The app owner checks the record before credits settle. Store username, publication date, review text, and the relevant listing help connect the submission to the right app.

If something is missing, ask for the specific information needed. Review decisions can be disputed, so give a clear reason and keep the discussion focused on the record rather than whether you liked the opinion.

Separate the workflow from store rules

A platform’s verification process does not establish that a review arrangement is permitted by an app store. Google Play explicitly prohibits incentivized ratings and reviews. Check the applicable store rules before participating in any credit-based review activity; an honest opinion does not automatically remove that restriction.
